Reminiscing About my time at Fairtex Muay Thai Gym in Bangkok Ten Years Ago

I was looking back at pictures of me when I first did Muay Thai ten years ago. It was the first time I did Muay Thai and decided to go to the highly recommended training place called Fairtex Bangplee in Bangkok, Thailand. I mean where else could I learn the sport best then from where it originated in old Siam, better known as Krungthep.

Looking back at the pictures I see the progression on what I looked like from the beginning to the end. I didn't take my weight or measurements which was a shame, but I know I felt in better shape and lost weight when I left after three weeks. The camp is a place where boxers from all over the world go to train. Fairtex accepts even beginners such as myself at the time. The boxers were super amazing and had won fights many times over in the Muay Thai world.

Here is a picture of some of the Thai trainers. Roen was my trainer for most of the time sitting in the middle. Break time!

Myself and Roen between sets.

This is me in the ring feeling pretty charged up with my red and white gloves. I certainly had to represent Canada

The pool where I spent a lot of time relaxing on my off time.

The weight room with many weights and cardio equipment.

Myself and Mac who was an excellent help in the weight room and a great salsa dancer.

The bag area where you go after your rounds to do some bag practice.

I went to my first real Muay Thai fight at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium which is famous in Bangkok for Muay Thai fights. I really enjoyed myself watching the whole entertainment that they put on from the music playing to the excitement of the crowd. I had first row seats as well! Myself and many of the guys went to watch the fight.

Here is the winner of the match. Don't you just love the bright pink boxing gloves? Haha!

You can see my blog here on blogspot, where I posted about my experience ten years ago at Fairtex. It is really amazing reading back on my experience so many years ago. I am excited and determined to accomplish another three weeks of Muay Thai in Hua Hin, Thailand in less then eight weeks.

Here is a video I took of the fight at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium where I was sitting in the front row.
